To provide this service, R & J employs up to 50 certified steel workers. James R. Rader Jr. (Rusty)
President/Owner
As President of R&J Steel Erectors, LLC and duties include overseeing all operations of erecting, crane rental and administration. Rusty has been in the construction industry for 35 years and founded R&J Steel Erectors, LLC in 2012. He has worked in the field as an ironworker, certified welder, foreman, estimator, and project manager. His duties in the erecting business have included managing up to 250 employees at peak employment and successfully completing projects of more than 6000 tons. He has a complete understanding of insurance, banking, and bonding, contract bidding and negotiating.
James R. Rader III (Lil' Rusty)
Senior Project Manager
Mr. Rader started working for R&J Steel Erectors, LLC in 2012 as a laborer and has worked with R&J Steel Erectors, LLC continuously since that time. He has over 15 years' experience in the steel industry. Mr. Rader began his tenure in the steel industry as a part-time laborer during his high school breaks. After graduation, he moved into a full-time laborer position and moved up to the positions of welder, foreman, and estimator and has held his current management position as Senior Project Manager/Safety Coordinator with R& J Steel Erectors for years. Mr. Rader's demonstration of detailed knowledge of structural and regulatory requirements as well as his interpersonal skills has made him a highly qualified and highly respected Project Manager.
Joe Jenkins
Project Manager, Management Rep, Quality & Safety
Mr. Jenkins has 20+ years as a welder and fabricator. He has worked as a pipe welder and fitter as well as a structural steel and misc. steel welder and fabricator. Joe has undergone many years of training and education including a 5-year apprenticeship, college credited courses, and quality control training. He started as a quality control inspector (QCI for a structural fabrication and erection company in 2015. He then moved to quality assurance (Q.A.) and safety manager in 2016. Later that year he was made management rep. in charge of safety and quality management systems as well as the company's entire AISC program. In May of 2017 he started at another company as a Production Manager where he oversaw the fabrication shop and erection crews as well as the quality control and safety program. In June of 2019 he moved to R&J as the management representative for quality and safety.
